Midnight in Paris

Yes, I just shamelessly copied the Movie title, because 1. I love that movie, 2. The name of that movie stuck in my head throughout the trip.

Paris. Well, Paris to me was always that dream, for which you want to live one more day, one more Spring, one more year. Paris, to me is the love of Rick Blaine and Ilsa Lund, Jesse and Celine. I wanted to walk through the Parisienne streets at night. To my surprise, I found that the city of love never sleeps. Just that, after sunset, the night blue sky adds a magical charm to everything there.

My partner was twinning with my craziness, hence he booked the midnight cruise on Seine river. Our tickets for Eiffel tower top was also at Sunset slot. It rained just a bit, that's my pact with weather god, it rained a bit on my birthday, every year.

The night before we left Paris, we had some authentic French dinner and then headed to the Louvre Museum. It was just before the sunset and the picturesque courtyard was already crowded with enthusiasts. We captured a few frames too while enjoying the sunset colors. In case you are planning a trip to Paris, make sure you have one evening and night free so that you can visit Louvre at night. People are allowed inside the courtyard till midnight. Even though it will still be crowded, but much lesser than how it is during the daytime and you are in for a treat there, when the sun sets in the background and the glass pyramid lights up, that's a scene to die for.

Some street performers perform there. I stood there, without realizing for how long. Time stood still for a few minute. That's how and where I believe people fall in love with a city.

From there we lazily walked around here and there and yes, 'Midnight in Paris' is pure magic! When the street lights are on, you would feel that you are walking through a fairy land. Do yourself a favor and don't try to click every frame there. Let the beautiful night immerse you with magic and happiness. (However, hold your bags and phone really tight, to keep those safe from the snatchers).

Our next destination was Moulin Rouge and yes, that iconic place never really disappoints. I mean, isn't it unbelievable, how you can stand in any one place in Paris, and can just spend hours there? Again the area is safe but beware of the snatchers. A nice local French lady helped us a bit about that area, about which lane is safer and which one isn't. We spent some time there and headed back to the hotel.

Every city has 2 sides, before and after sunset. Paris in daytime is like a restless, deeply in love woman, who can conquer the world for love. After sunset, Paris is that seductress, who sips her wine, and never loses her eye contact from her man. Her smoky kohl eyes say everything, that her red lips don't.
